MEPs Blast Colleagues Over Bill Equating Sputnik, RT to Daesh Propaganda

On Wednesday, the European Parliament approved a resolution proposed by Polish MEP Anna Fotyga equating the need to counteract Sputnik and RT with resistance to Daesh propaganda. 304 lawmakers voted in favor of the bill, with 179 voting against, and 208 abstaining. As Sputnik France points out, the resolution failed to get the majority expected.

Russia detains former navy officer in Crimea for allegedly spying for Ukraine

Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained a former Russian navy official, Leonid Parkhomenko, in Crimea who is accused of spying for the Ukrainian military, the FSB announced on its website on Thursday.

The FSB said it detained the former Naval captain in Sevastopol on Tuesday (November 22) and that he was collecting information on Russia's Black Sea fleet for Ukraine. He is charged with treason.
