US prosecutors: No bond for suspect in Jamaican lottery scam

BISMARCK, N.D. — U.S. prosecutors want a Jamaican man who’s accused of masterminding a multimillion-dollar lottery scam to be held without bond pending trial in North Dakota. Lavrick Willocks, 27, on Friday made his first appearance in U.S. District Court since being arrested in Jamaica two months ago. Assistant U.S. Attorney Clare Hochhalter warned there



Delhi air quality 'very poor', SC-appointed panel calls for tough action

Taking stock of the air pollution in Delhi and the neighbouring states, the Supreme Court appointed Environment Pollution (Prevention & Control) Authority (EPCA) on Friday asked authorities to immediately enforce the graded response action under "very poor" category for Delhi and "moderate poor" for NCR.

Google's former king of search is joining Uber to lead the engineering team

Google's former search chief, Amit Singhal, is back out of retirement after a year and joining Uber as its new SVP of engineering.

In the role, the engineer who spent 15 years at Google leading its search teams will be directly advising Uber CEO Travis Kalanick and Anthony Levandowski, the head of Uber's self-driving divisions.

Damaged bogies of derailed goods train catch fire
