Rite Aid president to leave company

Rite Aid Corp. said Wednesday its president and chief executive of Rite Aid Stores, Ken Martindale, will leave the company effective immediately to assume a position at another company. Martindale joined the company in December 2008. The drugstore chain said it promoted Bryan Everett, currently the executive vice president of store operations, to the newly created position of chief operating officer. 3 scientists, Planned Parenthood win Lasker medical prizes

NEW YORK — Two scientists who paved the way for widely used vaccines and another who discovered key players in cell growth have been awarded prestigious medical research awards. The Albert and Mary Lasker Foundation also announced Wednesday that it was giving its public service award to Planned Parenthood. Each award includes a $250,000 honorarium.
