SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — A fake architect named Newman has been sentenced to 2 1/3 to 7 years in state prison for posing as an architect in eastern New York. Paul J. Newman also was ordered Tuesday in Saratoga County Court to pay more than $115,000 to his victims in Albany, Rensselaer, and Saratoga counties. Indian journalist shot dead at her residence

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - A senior Indian journalist was shot dead on Tuesday in the southern city of Bengaluru by unidentified assailants, police said.

The body of Gauri Lankesh, the editor of an Indian weekly newspaper, was found lying in a pool of blood outside her home.

"People in front of her house heard gunshots," the city's Police commissioner, T. Suneel Kumar, told reporters. "We found four empty cartridges from the scene."
