Gold prices near Rs 29,000 mark on global cues

A global market selloff, fears about the impac of high bad loan write-offs by Indian banks, strong selling by foreign funds and below estimate corporate earnings combined to spook Dala Street investors, who panicked and pulled the sensex down by 3.4% (807 points) to 22,952 on Thursday -a level not seen since May 2014.
