Chennai to splurge Rs 145 crore on LED lights

Greater Chennai Corporation has sanctioned Rs 145.67 crore for a project to install 30,000 LED streetlights across the city after saying no to a central scheme which would have meant no initial expense for the civic body, reports Christin Mathew Philip.
