Panic has gripped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa state following the recent sack of its state legislators by the Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
Governor Seriake Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated his readiness to tackle the APC at the election petition tribunal given he has strong evidences to counter his opposition’s petitions.
With the nullification of the two PDP members mandates, the Court of Appeal has handed three more seats to the opposition parties; Labour Party (LP), All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Leadership reports.

Following this development, the ranks of the opposition parties have risen to five out of the 24 members of state House of Assembly.
Meanwhile, the Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson, says the nation is moving from the corruption days in which individuals could bribe the judiciary and get undeserved judgments and electoral favours, saying that such days are fast coming to an end.

Emphasizing the reforms in the Nigerian judiciary, the governor harped on the Supreme Court rulings in Rivers state, Akwa Ibom as well Abia state were gubernatorial candidates were reportedly rightly placed in offices according to election results.
Governor Dickson also added that he experienced a clear case of victory and transparency when he won over the APC candidate in Bayelsa, Timipre Sylva, adding that elections are won by getting the people to believe in and vote for you other than devising fraudulent means to get into office.
