San Jose State’s Ervin, Schweitzer drafted
Running back Tyler Ervin, San Jose State’s record-setting workhorse, was drafted by the Houston Texans in the fourth round, and Spartans guard Wes Schweitzer was picked by Atlanta in the sixth round.
“This is such an emotional time,” said Ervin, the fifth running back picked.
The first-team All-Mountain West selection was second nationally in all-purpose running with a 202.85 yards per game average.
During his college career, he played running back, slot receiver, cornerback (as a freshman) and returned kickoffs and punts.
