Senator Bamaiyi passes away

– A former senator Danladi Bamaiyi is dead

– He passed away after a prolonged illness in Abuja on Saturday

Danladi Bamaiyi, an ex-senator of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who represented Kebbi South district, is dead.

According to sources close to his family, Mr Bamaiyi passed away in the early Saturday morning in Abuja after a long-lasting illness.

He was the acting chairman of the Senate Committee on foreign contracts verification between 1999 and 2003.

He is reportedly a relative of Ishaya Bamaiyi, a former chief of army staff. The late senator is survived by a wife and three children.

Bala Ibn Na’Allah, incumbent deputy Senate leader, Bala Ibn Na’Allah, condoled with the family of the deceased and people of Kebbi state over his demise .
