Update on status of Giants-Mets game

The tarp is off the infield, the starters are warming up and the Mets say the game will start on time at 10:10 a,m. Entrepreneurial young gentlemen are selling ponchos at the subway station exit. The Mets are not ready to call the game as of 11 a.m. EDT because they’ve sold over 36,000 tickets, so it might be a long wait. [...] again, it’s hard to look at the forecast and be optimistic. The Giants roll in from Boston for a three-game series at Yankee Stadium. The Mets have an offday between series in Chicago and Miami, though their players would need to approve that date because they would play 24 games in a row and that requires a waiver of the collective bargainiang agreement. If there is a game, the Giants will go with the same lineup as Saturday, minus Joe Panik (groin injury): Stay tuned for more information.
