Assassination attempt on Oshiomhole’s deputy: Read what Edo APC wants Buhari to do
– The APC in Edo state has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to fish out those responsible for the attack on the state deputy governor, Pius Odubu
– The party said it was grateful to God that nobody died in the violent attack
– The state publicity secretary, Godwin Erhahon commended Odubu for very godly and peaceful conduct
The Edo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the national leadership of the party to interfere in what it described as “ugly trend in the ongoing campaign” ahead the governorship primary in the state.
Pius Odubu fortunately escaped being killed by unknown gunmen
The party was reacting to the violent attack on the state deputy governor, Pius Odubu and his gubernatorial aspiration campaign team at Auchi, Esako West local government area at the weekend.
The state publicity secretary, Godwin Erhahon, in a statement sympathized with all the victims of the violent attack, The Nation reports.

“We appeal to the national leadership of our great party and the presidency to rise to the challenge posed by the ugly trend in the ongoing campaign for the gubernatorial primaries of Edo APC,” the statement read.
The party expressed gratitude to God that no life was lost and prayed for the injured to recover speedily.
The Edo APC criticized those who tried to trivialize the near tragic incident, while applauding other gubernatorial aspirants who openly condemned the attack, particularly Godwin Obaseki.
“It is saddening that these heartless officials could not sympathize with those who were wounded in the attack,” Erhahon said.
He also commended Odubu for his very godly and peaceful conduct, saying the casualties would have been much if he was moving around with thugs
“APC appeals to the good people of Edo South to resist the temptation of viewing the attack on their illustrious son, the Deputy Governor as an ethnic plot knowing that godly leaders from Auchi and other parts of Edo North have unanimously condemned the attack.
“APC prays God to sanitize the hearts of all those who have vowed to rather die or kill than see any aspirant other than their choice emerge as gubernatorial candidate,” Erhahon added.
Odubu and his entourage were attacked by gunmen in Auchi, Etsako West local government area of the state on Saturday, April 30, as he was receiving a delegation at the secretariat of the APC in Auchi.
