Vikings knocking out deals for draft picks; only three left to go
The Vikings are continuing to hammer out deals for their draft class in advance of this weekend’s rookie minicamp, which starts Friday.
Second-round draft pick Mackensie Alexander, a cornerback from Clemson, agreed to terms today, per a league source. So has sixth-round pick David Morgan II, a tight end from the University of Texas at San Antonio, according to another league source.
The Pioneer Press has also reported that former Clemson safety Jayron Kearse, a seventh-round pick, has agreed to terms. And ESPN reports that defensive end Stephen Weatherly, a seventh-round pick from Vanderbilt, agreed to terms today, too.
Sixth-round pick Moritz Boehringer, the wide receiver from Germany, signed his contract Monday night. He was the first NFL draft pick to sign this year and had a good reason for it. He got it done early so he could try to acquire a work visa in time for the rookie minicamp.
That makes five of eight draft picks who have signed or agreed to terms.
