5 reasons Tiwa Savage will bounce back in no time, controversies regardless
The ensuing drama between Tiwa Savage and Tee Billz puts a lot of pressure on the singer just as it casts doubts on her brand appeal and marketability from the stance of several critics. But no matter what’s happened, what’s been said or written about her and what the social media community thinks, the singer is still as much a star as anyone can imagine.
And though the recent incident was a disaster as far as public image and perceptions are concerned, the 36-year-old still remains the queen bee in Nigerian music and her acclaim evident on many planes.
As naysayers continue to flood the internet with crude remarks on the singer, her marriage and the consequences of the now public state of things between her and Tee Billz, here are five strong reasons Tiwa will bounce back in no time all the controversies regardless:

1. The success rate – She has enjoyed an incredible success level as a singer, songwriter and performer and whether we like it or not her demand today hasn’t dropped one bit in the market.
2. Independence – Tiwa has a troubled (or failed) marriage but after that what else? Does the Mavin singer lack in any other respect? Does being single make one an outcast? She’s successful in materials and non-material acquisitions, she has baby Jamil and the means to treat him good and as long as she has established that she is not the direct cause of the crisis in her marriage by virtue of the detailed, all-explaining interview which she granted on April 29, she is good.
All those talks about how she is incomplete without a man are gibberish and nothing more, in all honesty.
3. Empathy – The way everything is currently set up, the singer will get the sympathy of the public and everything will wash away like pebbles on a sea shore. In clearer words, the current uproars will die a natural death before long because majority of the public can relate with her on the entire episode, even the biggest doubters will empathize. And that’s all that matters at the moment really.
On her part, she just needs to understand the workings of the media and know when to speak and when to zip up, as well as know what to put out on the internet and what not to. She’s done remarkably as we speak anyways.
4. Creativity – Tiwa is a strong woman and the world has seen just how much strength in character she has following the recent happenings. She has held on pretty fine, she just needs to dig deep into that creative sphere of her whole being and create more music.
This is not the time to sing about anyone using innuendos or any such thing. She just needs to make music, crisp music, or better still embark on a tour of her recently released R.E.D. album, just anything that gets her working and in the news for all the right reasons because her brand is quite fragile now and she needs all of that to find the right balance and re-establishment.
Tiwa needs to make that move with the music and initiate the process all over. You see, Nigerians are somewhat idle thanks to the tepid socioeconomic dispensation and as a result they will discuss whatever it is they see at present. As a result, her failure to do something musically means they will continue to lap up the juice from the current situation until something equally controversial or remotely close comes up, which isn’t something we experience every other week.

Nigerians have a short attention span and will go with the flow more often than not so she needs to get back into working.
5. Time heals everything – Tiwa might be 36, might have recently had a baby (and may continue as a single mother) but in truth she is anything but unappealing.
We have seen older women find love even after many thought otherwise. We have seen far worse situations turn around because life is unscripted. And so if she carries that same humility we have seen from afar, same humility we saw in her interview with Azuka Ogujiuba of This Day on April 29, and the submissive nature expected of the typical African woman, then it is safe to say she isn’t far from finding true happiness in another man if that’s what her fears are.
In summation, let’s be clear on certain things so that this discourse serves some use outside all the ruckus that have been served on social media in recent times.
Let’s establish certain points that help position a firmer train of thought in the midst of all the hue and cry this situation has generated, because no matter what as far as Nigerian music is concerned Tiwa is still one of the biggest out there today, and will be tomorrow and maybe the next year.
Given this, if her shine drops anytime soon then it has to be as a result of her inability to sustain dominance creatively and not as a result of whatever controversies maybe around her at present. Hers is nothing unheard of and no matter how much we colour the incident, there’s nothing new under the sun. Plus controversies come with the terrain, handling them appropriately is what matters.

Tiwa will be fine. This is because no matter how hard it is a picture remains the same, we can change the frames all we want. The people have forgotten whatever it is that went wrong, they have forgotten everything. They are just deluding themselves, but the moment something else pops up, they are gone. And something else, something new and queenly will pop up from Tiwa’s camp. There’s Don Jazzy up there somewhere which means making music isn’t an issue.
So get up and get yours Tiwa, don’t let the clutter zap your energy or kill your vibe. It is what it is.
