Pillars took the lead in the 20th minute, when Rabiu Ali struck from a freekick to put his side ahead, as he ended a personal a run of 9 hours 45 minutes of play without a goal in the NPFL.
The first half ended 1 – 0 in favour of Pillars.
With the return from the break, the visitors began to pile the pressure right from the first blast of the whistle and were rewarded with a goal through Nzube Anaezemba in the 51st minute.
With just eight minutes from regulation time, Ike Thankgod struck to silence the entire Sani Abacha stadium, as the Aba Warriors ran away with all three points. It ended Kano Pillars 1 – 2 Enyimba.
It would be recalled that on April 24, the Nigerian league champions Enyimba secured their first away win of the season after a 1-0 win over Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium.
