UMass awards 5,500 bachelor's degrees at commencement

(AP) — The University of Massachusetts awarded about 5,500 bachelor's degrees during commencement ceremonies on its main campus in Amherst.

The school also honored former UMass Amherst faculty member Sheila Blair, who served as chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from 2006 to 2011.
