'Timber Trot' running race, tree planting planned in Detroit

Hantz Woodlands and the Wayne County Farm Bureau are holding Saturday's Timber Trot 5K, offering the chance to run or walk while raising money to support Detroit education and beautification projects.

The company, an outgrowth of Hantz Farms, has been working to plant trees after clearing the collection of abandoned lots and removing debris, overgrowth, trash and vacant homes.
