Jeremiah Hawkins has committed to the Cal football program, the three-star athlete announced Friday on Twitter.
In eight games as a junior this past season, the Buena Park High School standout recorded 40 catches for 867 yards and 20 carries for 300 yards.
Hawkins is the Bears’ third Class of 2017 commit, joining wide receiver Taariq Johnson and defensive end Gabe Cherry.
Seven other ex-Bears players have signed with NFL teams as undrafted free agents: safeties Darius White and Stefan McClure (Colts), tight end Stephen Anderson and linebacker Jalen Jefferson (Texans), wide receiver Bryce Treggs (49ers), receiver Maurice Harris (Washington) and receiver Darius Powe (Giants).
