 Following the ongoing onslaught against the Boko Haram terrorists in Sambisa forest, the insurgents now wear uniforms in order to easily identify themselves.

This was revealed on Friday, May 6, by the acting director of defence information, Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, in a statement.

Abubakar said Boko Haram members now wear uniform to blend among the locals undetected, where they sadly carry out their heinous crime. He also said the decision to wear uniforms by the insurgents was for easy identification.

The recent apprehension of 2 Boko Haram terrorists in uniform near Dikwa in Borno State, is a pointer towards this direction

While the military would sustain the current tempo to further decimate the terrorists, the military is advising the recalcitrant remnant Boko Haram to surrender now and get humane treatment in line with the world best practice.

The members of the public are hereby urged to be wary of this new development and be always alert.  Any suspicious persons or object should be reported promptly to the security agencies.

Meanwhile, troops of the Nigerian army have arrested three Boko Haram leaders.

Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, spokesperson of the military, informed that this was achieved by the troops of 26 and 223, Battalions of the army headquarters strike group and armed forces special forces.
