Fire danger remains extremely high in northwest Wisconsin

A red flag warning indicates dangerous fire conditions fueled by warm temperatures, low humidity, high winds and exceptionally dry fuels such as grass or trees.

The DNR is prohibiting burning with DNR-issued permits and is asking people to be careful with campfires, outdoor grills, smoking, chain saws or off-road vehicles that could throw off a spark and ignite a fire.
