George Galloway hints he will contest Tooting by-election triggered by Sadiq Khan's resignation
George Galloway has indicated he could contest a by-election in Tooting triggered by Sadiq Khan’s mayoral victory.
Mr Khan has confirmed he will resign his constituency seat as he takes up his new job at City Hall following his historic victory over Zac Goldsmith yesterday.
And Mr Galloway has suggested he could be ready to throw his hat in the ring to elect for a new MP in south London.

When asked if he was interested in “having a pop”, Mr Galloway responded "sure" before confirming he would stand as an independent candidate.
The firebrand politician was himself one of a dozen candidates in the mayoral election won by Mr Khan.
The former Labour MP received just over 37,000 first preference votes representing the Respect party.
He finished in seventh place in front of the BNP, Britain First and the Cannabis Is Safer Than Alcohol party.
