The longer I have lived in the city, the more I want to know about its past. It's had a colorful one, from the lawless Gold Rush days on the Barbary Coast, to a time when the unthinkable reduced miles of the city to ash and rubble, to the rapid days of rebirth, to the days of the beats and flower children, time of sexual orientation activism and the rise of the tech industry, all contribute to its greatness.
