Good news: President Buhari appoints Uja Tor Uja as new NCPC boss

– President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of another person to oversee the affairs of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) as the executive secretary.

– The new NCPC boss is Mr Uja Tor Uja

– This development is coming on the heels of the termination of the appointment of the former boss, Mr John Kennedy Opara on Thursday, May 19

On this same platform a few days ago, it was reported that, President Muhammadu Buhari sacked the number one man of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Mr John Kennedy Opara, who has been at the helms of the affairs of the Commission for some years now.

As a way of getting a new NCPC boss, President Buhari has given the nod for the appointment of Uja Tor Uja.

Mr Mohammed TK Nakorji, an assistant director in charge of Press, office of the the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, released a statement regarding the appointment of Uja Tor Uja. He said the appointment is for a period of five years.

Mr Uja takes over from the immediate former executive secretary of the NCPC, whose engagement in service was terminated on Thursday, May 19.

Contents of the statement reads: “Mr. Uja graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from University of Lagos in 1981. He obtained Master’s Degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies from University of Jos in 1987.

“Before his appointment, Mr. Uja was a Commissioner of Commerce and Industries, Hon. Commissioner of Information and Social Development, Benue state and Benue state PFN Chairman.”
