Last Call: Bars may close earlier at South Carolina beaches
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — It seems that last call may be coming earlier at bars and nightspots in communities in the Myrtle Beach area, the heart of South Carolina's $19 billion tourism industry.
Local media outlets report that Horry County Council last week gave tentative approval to an ordinance that would require bars to close at 2 a.m. The proposal requires two more readings before the ordinance could take effect July 12.
