A few days to the end of the Ramadan, some sex workers in a number of booming clubs on the streets of Lagos have cried out over low patronage.
While speaking with this medium, some sex workers blamed the Ramadan fasting for their losses which fell from about N15,000 per night which they used to earn to about N5,000.
Expressing her dismay at Allen Avenue in Ikeja area of the state was a sex worker who was identified by Lizzy. She told our correspondent that she used to make N 15, 000 (especially during weekends) before the commencement of Ramadan.

But is now lamenting that her patronage has dropped, adding that she no longer takes N15,000 home for the night.
“I usually make N12,000 to N15,000 daily just in this business because of packaging. I am not a local runs babe, I don’t do N500 jobs, and I am based here in Allen where I meet my dream target per night.
“For the past months, I have been making a minimum of N15,000 per night from this job but I have a bit lost patronage since this fasting period. I usually charge a minimum of N5,000 for short time, which is about three hours, and I can even get up to five short time job before the night runs out, but I am now forced to reduce my price because of low patronage,” she explained.

When asked why she has decided to continue the job despite the low pay she started making daily, Lizzy shunned the question without a reply.
Also, details have also emerged on how some sex workers in Lagos make it big despite the stigma attached to the job as some of them now engage in pickpocketing of their customers while servicing them.
Asserting to this was a man who spoke on condition of anonymity when our correspondent visited the popular Royale club in Ikeja. He revealed that his pocket had been picked by a prostitute in the area, who stole his N50,000 monthly income.
“My pocket was sometime picked by a prostitute in Ikeja where I went to have fun. She actually charged me N2,000 for a short time, and I was foolish to have left a sum of N50, 000 which was the salary I received from the office that day,” he lamented.
Another sex worker who claimed that she is based in Pekas, along Allen area of Ikeja also confessed how she merges tailoring with her sex work business.
Recently, prostitutes in Abuja, Nigeria’s federal capital, have devised new means of ensuring that they make maximum profit from their customers following the ban on prostitution in the state.
