We have just witnessed the most extraordinary week in British politics possibly since World War II, with both leading national political parties in utter disarray. The June 23 vote to leave the European Union was always expected to bring uncertainty to the economy and financial markets. And it did. But the scale of the political fallout was mostly unforeseen.
