Angel Pagan and Brandon Belt, the second and third hitters, respectively, combined for four hits, and Belt’s triple in the third inning scored Pagan with the Giants’ first run.

Pagan had a scary moment in the inning, getting drilled on the right side of his face as he stole second.

Jake Peavy lasted 41/3 innings, and six relievers combined on hitless ball until Santiago Casilla gave up a double to Phil Gosselin with one out in the ninth.

Lamb looked away, and the ball bounced off his shoulder for an infield single.
