NY court overturns conviction in pedestrian death

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A New York appeals court has overturned the manslaughter conviction of a driver who killed a pedestrian, ruling the trial judge improperly allowed his statements to police and blood tests taken by police after they ignored his request for a lawyer.

According to the court, Green told officers on the scene he had taken anti-anxiety medications that made him sleepy.
