Ski towns collect record taxes thanks to winter tourism

DENVER (AP) — Colorado ski towns had yet another record-setting winter, with sales tax revenues reaching highest-ever levels for most ski communities in the state.

The past three ski seasons have hit records for ski communities in Colorado with all0time high revenue-based annual rent payments to the Forest Service and a new record for visitors when 13 million people came in the 2015-16 season.
