Woman kidnapped, dog found dead; her son receives ransom demand, police say

Police arrested four people on suspicion of kidnapping a Northern California woman and demanding a ransom from her son.

The Vallejo Police Department said 57-year-old Elvira Babb has been missing since she was last seen June 29 by a co-worker who dropped her off at a market.
