Huey Lewis keeps the rock ’n’ roll beating
The heart of rock ’n’ roll is still beating on the winery circuit.
Huey Lewis and the News recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of “Sports,” the group’s No. 1-charting third album, which gave the world indispensable MTV hits such as “I Want a New Drug,” “The Heart of Rock & Roll” and “If This Is It.”
The album has sold more than 10 million copies in the United States — 6 million of those in 1984 alone, when it competed for shelf space with Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” Prince’s “Purple Rain” and Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.”
