Mbete set to cast her vote, but then...

The ANC's Baleka Mbete arrived at her voting station to cast her special vote and noticed she had forgotten something very important.

Johannesburg - ANC National Chairperson Baleka Mbete had to return home on Tuesday morning to collect her ID document after she arrived at the Northcliff voting station to cast her special vote and noticed it wasn't in her bag.

National ANC spokesperson Zizi Kodwa says the fact that Mbete could not cast her vote proves that the election process is fair.

Mbete has now left to fetch her ID and will return at 10am to vote.

Kodwa said that Mbete travels with a lot of staff members and she had assumed she had it with her on Tuesday morning.
