Rio 2016: Egypt female volleyball player shocks supporters (photos)
An Egyptian volleyball team player Doaa Elghobashy has brought a twist to the game after she appeared in her hijab with long sleeves and leggings for their game against Germany.
Although the German women team won the game 2-0, Elghobashy’s appearance sparked the online community but according to her, she had put the hijab on for a decade.
“I have worn the hijab for 10 years. It doesn’t keep me away from the things I love to do, and beach volleyball is one of them,” said Egypt volleyball player Doaa Elghobashy
Recall that strict uniform standards were made lighter at the 2012 Olympics in London, and this has resulted in more countries participating at the Games.
