Tom Cruise Movie Production Companies Hit With Wrongful Death Lawsuit
The production companies involved with Tom Cruise‘s “American Made,” formerly known as “Mena,” is getting hit by a wrongful death lawsuit, TheWrap has learned.
The complaint alleges that the production companies allowed an unsuitable flight to occur without proper supervision or training, resulting in the death of two of the three occupants.
According to the suit, the production houses were responsible for making sure that any flight in connection with the movie were safe.
“The movie production disregarded very basic safety procedures and did not properly plan or supervise the flight,” the family’s attorney Justin Green of Kreindler & Kreindler, LLP, said.
“Defendants knew that the Accident Aircraft would be flown over rugged, mountainous terrain and in the Republic of Colombia, and yet failed to ensure that Carlos Berl was competent, qualified, rested and sufficiently informed for the flight,” the complaint filed by Purwin’s family stated.
