Becoming the first openly gay world champion is motivating the boxer ahead of his WBO lightweight title fight Saturday against Britain’s Terry Flanagan in Cardiff, Wales.

The Cleveland Browns’ quarterback had Thanksgiving a day early.

“I put my shoulder pads on and went out and ran around like a little kid,” he said.

The Browns (0-11) signed him to a two-year, $15 million contract in March to be their franchise quarterback, and Griffin believes he can be Cleveland’s starter for seasons to come.
