BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The German speaker of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, will not seek a third term in an election in January, a parliamentary source said on Thursday, after German media reported he would return to national politics.
Sueddeutsche Zeitung said Social Democrat Schulz would leave parliament to enter German national politics, although it was not clear whether he would lead the party in Germany's elections next year.
