If you’ve seen “Not a Genuine Black Man,” the longest-running solo show in San Francisco history, or “The Waiting Period,” you know that Brian Copeland is among the Bay Area’s most honest, thoughtful and eloquent storytellers. For the holidays, the Marsh remounts his “The Jewelry Box,” which is set in 1970s Oakland, following Copeland’s childhood quest to scrounge $11.97 to buy his mother the perfect Christmas present.
