Army commanders serve soldiers holiday feast on Thanksgiving

FORT JACKSON, S.C. (AP) — Fort Jackson commander Maj. Gen. Pete Johnson and his wife Sheila are serving a Thanksgiving feast to soldiers in basic training.

On the Thanksgiving holiday, the couple is helped serve more than 2,600 pounds of turkey, 2,300 pounds of ham and 1,000 pies the staff has prepared for soldiers at the post over the holiday weekend.
