More rain soaks Bay Area, but dry weekend on the way
Yet another round of rain swept through the Bay Area early Thursday following a series of storms that brought flooding, mudslides and downed trees across the region, forecasters said. The latest storm, which began overnight, brought anywhere from a quarter of an inch to an inch of rain to the area, said Steve Anderson, a forecaster with the National Weather Service. San Francisco picked up around a third of an inch of rainfall and the showers should continue on and off throughout the day, he said. The king tides that began earlier in the week will continue through the afternoon, prompting the weather service to keep its coastal flood advisory in effect until 12 p.m. on Thursday. A flood warning remained in effect for the Russian River at Johnson’s Beach in Guerneville.
