State Board of Education considers new testing methods

(AP) — The West Virginia Board of Education is considering a plan to replace the current Smarter Balanced assessments with end of course exams tied to a student's final grade.

The Smarter Balanced exams, which are aligned to the Common Core math and English language arts standards, don't count toward students' grades or graduation.
