Travis scores 26 as Stanford holds off Utah 81-75
If Reid Travis is feeling any ill effects from his injured right shoulder, it wasn’t evident Saturday.
The Stanford forward scored 13 of his 26 points in the final 8:13 as the Cardinal enjoyed a much-needed 81-75 win over Utah at Maples Pavilion.
The Utes lost in double overtime to Cal on Thursday night.
[...] Cartwright hit two foul shots to cement the win.
The Cardinal made just two three-pointers in the first half, then quickly matched that total on shots by Allen and Cartwright early in the second half.
Travis scored two baskets inside, fed Allen for a breakaway layup and hit a turnaround jumper as the Cardinal opened a 46-41 lead.
Cartwright then hit a three and scored on a drive, but Rawson nailed a pair of threes for the Utes.
Stanford led 54-53 until Parker Van Dyke sank a three and Kuzma worked inside for a layup and a 58-54 Utah lead.
Travis again wore a supportive sleeve on his injured right shoulder, which caused him to miss four recent games.
