Kings snap long skid against Warriors, win in overtime

Though a fiery competitor, the Warriors’ head coach seldom loses his cool.

Less than a month after quelling DeMarcus Cousins, the Warriors were bulldozed by the three-time NBA All-Star to the tune of 32 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists.

Stephen Curry (35 points, nine assists), Draymond Green (16 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two blocks) and Klay Thompson (26 points) still helped power Golden State to its third overtime this season.

Yet, there the two-time reigning NBA MVP was, missing a high-arcing layup attempt that lofted over the outstretched arm of Sacramento’s Anthony Tolliver.

After dropping its first game in two weeks, the Warriors found solace in the fact that their emotional leader had survived two injury scares.

Late in the second quarter, Green was going up for a layup attempt when he careened out of bounds and knocked his right knee against the floor.

After rocking back and forth for a few moments, Green walked to the locker room with a slight limp.

Green underwent X-rays that came back negative and was diagnosed with a right knee contusion.

In the extra period, after the Kings seized a seven-point lead, Green landed awkwardly while drawing contact on a dunk attempt.
