Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state on Sunday said that he had decided to pray more and talk less no matter the level of blackmail and gossip from his detractors.
Okowa, who was at the 20th anniversary of Peace Foundation Bible Ministry in Asaba, also decried the increasing wave of kidnapping, pipeline vandalism and other criminal activities in the state.

However, he said rather than giving his attention to critics and get distracted, he has learnt to give more time to seeking God’s face as that is more profitable for him.
The governor called on Christian ministers to de-emphasise prosperity in their ministrations but give more time to prayers for the nation for the restoration of its lost glory.

He said most ministers of God had failed to task their congregation on the need for a more closer relationship with God which has led to the increase in social vices across the country.
He said only the prayer of Christians could lead the nation out of its present economic predicaments, and charged Deltans to be steadfast in their prayers for God's mercies on the people and leadership of the state.
The General Overseer of the Peace Foundation Bible Ministry, Bishop Prayer Okoh, called on the body of Christ to be united in taking their rightful place in the affairs of the nation.

He charged Christians not to be wary in well doing and pay more attention to the word of God to enable them become more relevant in the affairs of the nation.
In a sermon, a guest minister, Bishop Abba Abdulkarim, said Nigeria was failing because the church has failed in their responsibilities, and charged Christians to humble themselves and pray for God to heal the land.
