On March 1, 1952, Air Force 1st Lt. Raymond Plevyak, 22, took off in his F-51D Mustang fighter-bomber on a combat mission over North Korea and never returned. He is one of 7,751 American armed forces personnel still missing or unaccounted for from the Korean War.
