Uproar in Benue as deputy governor’s wife slaps police inspector for allegedly sleeping with her husband

Justice Mary Abounu, wife of the Benue state deputy governor has reportedly slapped police inspector, for allegedly sleeping with her husband

Mary Aboumu slapped the female police orderly, Jane Agbo, over an allegation leveled against her that she was having a secret relationship with her husband.

NIGERIAN CONCORD reports that the assault happened at the deputy governor’s lodge, Makurdi.

NAIJ.com gathered that the incident had made the Nigeria police command in the state to redeploy the officer back to Otukpo division.

The accused Inspector was said to have to been working with the wife of the deputy governor since she was a court judge.

Meanwhile the the single lady inspector has refuted the allegation when she said that was not having any affair with the deputy governor.

It was learnt that Mrs Abounu had first threatened to assault her openly if she didn’t confess to the allege relationship she was having with her husband.

It was during this misunderstanding that happened between two of them that Mrs Abounu slapped Inspector Jane Agbo many times after which commanded her to leave the deputy governor’s lodge.

Inspector Agbo in her response on Sunday, May 28, through telephone, confirmed her redeployment as a result of the heated argument and assault she got from the deputy governor’s wife, two weeks ago.

The inspector said: “I have never had any relationship with her husband, and again the man is not even my taste if at all I want to date anyone.

“Although I am a single lady but I can take you or anyone to see my boy friend, and when you see him, you will quickly agree with me that the deputy governor is not my taste”.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor, Engr. Benson Abounu in his reaction was said to have made life unbearable for his wife.

The newspaper, however, reported that, the deputy governor only wanted the former orderly back, as a way to prevent her from divulging some of the family and government secrets at her disposal.

NAIJ.com recalls that the Benue state government had it had set up a committee to oversee the payment of backlog of salaries in the state.

Benson Abounu, the state deputy governor made this known on Thursday May 11, shortly after chairing a meeting of the committee set up by the state government to oversee the payment of backlog of salaries owed workers.
