In Panchkula, Rs 375 crore 'shamlat' compensation scam surfaces
An alleged compensation scam amounting to around Rs 375 crore has been detected in land acquisition of 18 villages in Panchkula district in which officials kept distributing the money for 'shamlat' — common village land that is property of the panchayat — to villagers for 15 years.
