Homers doom Giants, Matt Cain in comeback start
[...] Fernandez warranted the bigger headline Thursday after 13 months away from the game. Fernandez held the Giants to three runs in six innings and opened a four-run fifth with a home run off Cain. Later in the inning, Justin Bour, the rookie first baseman filling in for injured Michael Morse, hit a three-run homer off Cain to continue his Giancarlo Stantonization of of the Giants. Fernandez, whose fastball settled at 94 mph after he hit 99 in the first inning, looked more like the 2013 National League Rookie of the Year as the game progressed and struck out six without a walk. After the Marlins fans cheered Fernandez's first pitch wildly, Blanco redirected a 96-mph fastball to center for a single. Fernandez struck out Matt Duffy with a 99-mph fastball on the outside black before Posey lined a sacrifice fly to right and Belt flipped an RBI single just beyond the outfield skin and beyond shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria's diving reach. [...] he did not allow a hit until Christian Yelich's two-out double in the third, a liner that Brandon Belt misjudged before it flew over his head. Adeiny Hechavarria followed with a scoring single to cut the Giants' lead to 2-1
