Sandro says US President Biden has ‘promised to visit PH’
United States (US) President Joe Biden has promised “to find time to visit the Philippines”, according to Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos.
This was revealed by the presidential son during a press briefing with local reporters in his district over the weekend.
Marcos, the senior deputy majority leader in the House of Representatives, was asked if he had invited investors to come visit Ilocos Norte.
“Yes. That happened especially, hindi lang investors kung hindi heads of state (not just investors but heads of state),” the neophyte congressman answered.
“So you know, si [French President Emmanuel] Macron, inimbita namin (we invited Macron). Si Biden noong nagkita kami (We also invited Biden when we saw him). Hopefully, pinangako ni Biden, ni President Biden na hahanap siya ng oras para makapunta dito sa Pilipinas (President Biden promised that he would find time to come here in the Philippines),” he said.
But investors are important too, and Marcos said he’s noticed a sudden display of interest for Ilocos.
“So hopefully magagamit natin yan, hopefully pwede natin kausapin para magdala ng mas marami pang investment dito (So hopefully we can tap into that, hopefully we can talk to them so that they’ll bring more investments here).”
