Haq box office collection day 6: Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi starrer Haq hit the theatres last Friday. Suparn S. Varma helmed the project, which is about the renowned Shah Bano Begum case. The movie had a nice run through the first weekend. As per a report by Sacnilk, Haq raked in around Rs 1.75 crore in the Indian market on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. The film took in an estimated Rs 1.15 crore on Wednesday, giving it a total domestic gross of around Rs 12.90 crore. The film's occupancy rate on Monday was 8.88%. The night show was 5.81% full, the evening show 9.64% full, and the afternoon show 8.93% full.

All about Haq

The film's story tackles a serious and sensitive issue, but its slow pace and lack of entertainment quotient prevented it from attracting a large audience. Despite this, Yami Gautam's performance is receiving widespread praise. She wrote on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), "The power of 'Word of mouth'. No foul-play or any gimmicks. Straight from our hearts to the audience. Even from trade & media perspective, I feel a lot of positivity that they want a film like ' HAQ' to be a success. It's a rarity & I shall cherish this moment for life."

What is the film's original story?

The story of Haq is inspired by one of the country's most controversial cases the Mohammed Ahmed Khan vs. Shah Bano Begum case. It is based on Jigna Vora's book 'Bano: India's Daughter.' The film begins in 1978, when Shah Bano, a woman, was divorced by her lawyer husband, Abbas. She then approaches the court to assert her rights. In 1985, the Supreme Court delivered a historic verdict declaring that Muslim women also have the right to receive maintenance under the law.
