ANC nominates its candidate for Armenia`s prime minister at 2026 elections
ArmInfo. The Armenian National Congress (ANC), led by Armenia's first president, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, has announced the nomination of its candidate for Prime Minister of Armenia in the 2026 parliamentary elections.
AFC Vice Chairman Aram Manukyan, following the party's December 26 congress, told reporters that the party's Council and executive body had unanimously decided to participate in the upcoming elections and nominate ANC Deputy Chairman Levon Zurabyan as their candidate for Prime Minister, who will head the party's list. "The upcoming elections are challenging, as the issue is not just about entering parliament.
Given the dangerous situation the country finds itself in and the risk of losing statehood, all those who seek only to enter parliament are effectively supporting the government's agenda. Our goal is much greater - we are entering the election campaign to form an alliance capable of saving our country from these negative processes. Preserving our statehood is more important today than simply winning a seat in parliament," Manukyan stated.
As a reminder, parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7, 2026.
