Despite continuing opposition from parents, coaches and students, Truckee and North Tahoe moving to the California Interscholastic Federation is going forward, sooner than originally expected. Truckee and North Tahoe will leave the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association this summer to join the CIF, as mandated by the California Department of Education. The move is due to a conflict with California laws that require students to be allowed to participate in school activities, including sports, based on their gender identity.
